The Connantre site carries out seasonal activities to produce sugar and pressed pulps, as well as low-purity syrups intended for the Morains distillery for alcohol production. All year round, the sugar refinery also carries out industrial sugar packaging activities.
In total, the sugar refinery and distillery employ 146 permanent staff, in addition to 95 seasonal staff during the sugar beet campaign. The sugar refinery processes the sugar beet produced on 27,000 hectares cultivated by 1,900 cooperative growers from the Champagne-Ardenne, Seine-et-Marne and Aisne regions. The plant’s average sourcing radius is 43 km.
